Among the victims of the tragic event happened in Tarragona in the morning of March 20th, there are seven Italian students, in Spain for a period of mobility. The statistics show that Spain is the favorite destination for Italian students who are willing to undertake the experience Erasmus+.

Erasmus Student Network, one of the largest no-profit student associations in Europe, want to express its deepest condolence; in particular ESN Italy, closer than ever to ESN Spain, once again expresses its deep emotion.

And it is in these difficult days that the Italian ESN family expresses its solidarity with the decision of the relatives and friends of the victims, supporting the observance of a minute of silence in the day of March 22th, 2016.

The initiative, proposed by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), will involve all Italians universities, in which starting at 12:00 will be suspended the educational and institutional activities for a full minute of reflection.

Many sections of the Italian network have promptly canceled in mourning the activities planned for the week, which will be replaced by commemorative events. Erasmus Student Network Italy has applied to the Ceremonial Office of the Government to obtain two days of national mourning.
